I have been traveling to Edinburg, TX in early April recently to add a laser light show to the popular “Out of This World!” UFO Festival & Conference.
The show is presented on Friday night in the Edinburg Municipal Auditorium, which was built in 1926 and is in outstanding shape. The first year that I did this show, I brought a screen and we filled the proscenium opening with laser graphics + a full color beam show. The second year, I decided to go bigger and covered the entire front half of the auditorium with laser light.
For this show I tend to use quite unusual laser light shows – past shows have included an accordion driven laser piece; an original song “Sheets ‘n Waves”; indigenous American music in a starry night; and I have rocked the hall with my special brand of “Laser Music” – in which the speakers are sharing the signals with the laser to create perfect Synaesthesia!
The point of the second year was choreographing a laser show to the music of Brave Combo – “Flying Saucer”. I am a co-founder of this band, so it is near and dear to me to add lasers to Brave Combo’s nuclear polka music!
To give you an idea of how cool this auditorium is, I made a panorama:
